24 months, exchanged locally, with nothing shipped back overseas.
The reason to buy this from a South African business rather than off a marketplace is what happens in month seven when something stops working. Here is what we actually commit to.
What is covered
Every module carries a 2-year exchange warranty from the date it is delivered to you. If it develops a fault in normal use, we replace the unit. We do not send it overseas for assessment and we do not ask you to.
- The module itself, including its power and video circuitry.
- The supplied adapter harness, microphone and USB cable.
- Firmware faults, including a module that will not update or pair.
The cover is the same whether your module came out of our local stock or was imported to order in your name. Being the importer of record on the customs entry changes nothing about your warranty with us.
How a claim works
- Tell us what it is doing. Most faults turn out to be a connector that has worked loose, so we try that first and it costs you nothing.
- If it is genuinely faulty, we send a courier for it at our cost.
- A replacement goes out as soon as the fault is confirmed: next business day if we have it locally, otherwise within the normal import window.
What is not covered
- Physical damage, water ingress or a unit that has been opened.
- Damage from incorrect installation, such as power taken off the wrong circuit.
- A vehicle whose factory head unit has since been replaced with an aftermarket one.
- A phone-side change by Apple or Google that removes a feature. We will tell you honestly if that is what has happened.
Your statutory rights sit on top of this
This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, not a replacement for them. Section 56 of that Act gives you an implied warranty of quality for six months, and nothing on this site can reduce it. Where our 2-year cover is better, ours applies. Where the Act gives you more, the Act applies.
This is also true of the import arrangement. You are named as the importer of record for the customs entry, but we remain the supplier who sold you the goods, and the Act’s protections against defective goods are ours to answer for either way.
Because you are buying electronically, section 44 of the ECT Act also gives you seven days to cancel without giving a reason. See our returns page.
Fitment is our risk, not yours
We confirm your module against your VIN before we dispatch. If we get that wrong and send you something that does not fit your car, we pay the return shipping and refund you in full. That is a separate promise from the warranty and it has no time limit attached to our own mistake.
